TPOs and Conservation Areas are not the same thing
A Tree Preservation Order can protect an individual tree, a group or woodland. In a Conservation Area, notice is commonly needed before work on qualifying trees. The practical answer is the same at the beginning: establish the tree’s status before committing to work.
